The garage sales are being coordinated by Rho and Pi Chapter, a part of Woman’s Life.
The non-profit organization’s mission this year is to help the homeless and hungry, according to Mary Kiser, Woman’s Life vice president.
Kiser said the organization previously volunteered for organizations in the community. They have sold 50/50 raffle tickets to raise money for the Susan G. Komen Race For The Cure.
The organization also has helped collect items for the Pack A Backpack program through Salvation Army, and collected items for a needy family in November and December.
The local chapter has 15 active members who are from Kosciusko County and Peru.
The Kosciusko County chapter meets the second and fourth Tuesday of the month at members’ homes.
The garage sales being planned for Fellowship Missions are July 15 and 16 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the former Tri-Namic building, 654 and 658 S. Buffalo St., Warsaw.
Fellowship Missions is in the process of raising funds to renovate and open the permanent homeless shelter for men, women and children that is scheduled to open the end of December or January, according to Eric Lane, Fellowship Missions director.
All donations are welcome for the garage sale, and people are asked to provide the priced items June 29, and July 6 and 8 from 1 to 6 p.m. at the Tri-Namic building.
People who cannot drop items off at the Tri-Namic building can call Kiser at 574-834-2004 to discuss a pick-up alternative.
All of the proceeds from the garage sales will go toward expenses for the permanent homeless shelter that is being planned.
Besides a garage sale, there also will be baked goods for sale, and hot dogs and beverages will be sold for $1.
All of the proceeds from the garage sale will go to help Fellowship Missions financially get a permanent homeless shelter in Warsaw up and running.
There is currently a transitional home for homeless men, and a temporary homeless shelter for children and women.[[In-content Ad]]
