NORTH MANCHESTER - Donald William Hoffman, 78, of North Manchester, died at 11:30 a.m. Sept. 8, 2008, in his residence.

He was born Feb. 10, 1930, in Peru, to Ellis and Mary Keim Hoffman. On Dec. 18, 1982, he married Sharon Smith Reimer, who survives.

He was a farmer; a retired salesman at Kerlin Tractor Sales, Silver Lake; was former owner of Hoffman Furniture, North Manchester, and Hoffman Trucking; and was a truck driver at Pierceton Trucking, Laketon. He graduated from Gilead High School and was a member of Moose Lodge, Deming Lodge 88, Eel River Club and Izaak Walton League, all of North Manchester.

Also surviving are a son, Dennis (and spouse Gretchen) Hoffman, Phoenix, Ariz.; four stepsons: Jr. (and spouse Cheryl) Reimer, Pierceton; Ronnie Reimer, Tampa, Fla.; Tim (and spouse Elena) Reimer, Oceanside, Calif.; and Curt (and spouse Diane) Reimer, Servia; two daughters, Marianne (and spouse Pete) McElroy and Sandra Hoffman Martin, all of Fort Myers, Fla.; a stepdaughter, Melody (and spouse Dana) Jones, Lincolnville; a brother, Dean (and spouse Dee) Hoffman, North Manchester; 17 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son and a grandson.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at DeLaughter-McKee Mortuary, North Manchester, with Pastor J.P. Freeman officiating. Burial will be in Gilead Cemetery.

Calling is from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with a Masonic service at 7 p.m.
