SYRACUSE - Donald W. Harley, 85, of Syracuse, died Sept. 24, 2009, in Syracuse.

He was born Feb. 26, 1924, in Warsaw, to George and Mellie Gaskill Harley. On July 12, 1975, in Kendallville, he married Beverly Kay Kline Williams, who survives.

He worked at Sea Nymph for 20 years and had a lawn business for 20 years in the Syracuse area. He graduated from New Paris High School in 1941, and was a World War II U.S. Army veteran. He was a member of North Webster United Methodist Church and Turkey Creek Senior Citizens Club for 15 years.

Also surviving are three sons: Donald Jr. (and spouse Dessie) Harley, Warsaw; Richard (and spouse Barb) Harley, Goshen; and Michael (and spouse Vicki) Harley, Pennsylvania; a daughter, Linda (and spouse Stan) Delagrange, Middlebury; six stepchildren: Cassie and Mike Williams, both of Morrison, Tenn.; Myrt Phenis; Caroline Nettrouer; Joan Nichols; and Delphine Rogers; 24 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and many step-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, six brothers and a sister.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Mishler-Eastlund Funeral Home, Harris Chapel, Syracuse. Burial will be in McClintic Cemetery.

Calling is from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday and one hour prior to the service Monday at the funeral home.
