His wife of 37 years, Leah Cromer Tyler, always appreciated his intellectual acumen and most of their lively debates.
He is survived by a family who loved him very much. His five daughters, Sandy M. Tyler, Atlanta, Ga.; Jennifer Gardner-Cummins, Chattanooga, Tenn., Julia Gardner-Gibler, Birmingham, Ala.; Dr. Jessica L. Tyler, Dayton, Ohio; and Johanna Tyler, Indianapolis, all share his quirky sense of humor and love of Chinese food, and his five grandchildren always appreciated his mustache and repertoire of silly songs.
A memorial service is being planned in Warsaw for early June 2016.
