Donald Roy Trease, 91, of 1634 S. County Farm Road, Warsaw,  passed away at 1:05 a.m. Aug. 31, 2012, in Miller’s Merry Manor, Warsaw.

He was born July 12, 1921, in Donaldson, to Grover and Esther Johnson Trease. On Oct. 5, 1947, he married Mary Miller, who survives.

He was a 1939 graduate of West Township High School, Marshall County. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving during World War II in the European Theater. He was honorably discharged and a recipient of the Purple Heart.

He moved to Warsaw 46 years ago, retiring in 1983 after 37 years with United Telephone Co. He was a 46- year member of Kiwanis International-Warsaw, serving as president in 1971. He was a member of Walnut Creek United Methodist Church, Warsaw, and was an avid fisherman and gardener.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife; a son,   Don Trease, Warsaw; a daughter, Marie (and spouse Mauri) Bordner, Columbia City; a granddaughter,   Maureen (and spouse Jeremy) Freeman, Columbia City; a grandson, Mason (and spouse Sonja) Bordner,  Fort Wayne; and four great-grandchildren: Eden, Grant, Wyatt and Blake. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Mildred Henry.

A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Walnut Creek United Methodist Church, Warsaw.  

Calling is from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the church.

Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw, is in charge of arrangements.
