He was born July 14, 1939, in Argos, to Lee and Lois Seitz Swoverland. On Feb. 29, 1972, he married Lois Barnett Stull, who survives.
A 43-year resident of Warsaw, he was a machine operator at R.R. Donnelley & Sons for 38 years, retiring in 1999. He was a member of American Legion Post 49, Warsaw, and a U.S. Army veteran, serving from 1957-59.
Also surviving are three sons: Thomas (and spouse Diana) Stull, Warsaw; Edward (and spouse Crystal) Swoverland, Mishawaka; and Mark (and spouse Judy) Swoverland, Indianapolis; two daughters, Rhonda Hardy, Warsaw, and Donna Romano, Laville; two sisters, Margaret Mikesell, Rochester, and Dorothy Overmeyer, Argos; 13 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, 2290 Provident Court, Warsaw, with Pastor Terry Bradford officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw, with military honors by members of American Legion Post 49 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post1126, both in Warsaw.
Calling is from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday the funeral home.
