He was born Nov. 24, 1928, in Warsaw, to William and Zella McGown Armstrong. On Sept. 23, 1978, he married Peggy Vaughn, who survives.
He grew up in Bunker Hill, moving to Florida in 1962 where he owned D.A. Mobile Home Services, retiring in 2004.
Also surviving is a daughter, Becky (and spouse Calvin) Davis, Pierceton; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; a sister; and a brother. He was preceded in death by three brothers, four sisters, two sons, one daughter and one great-grandson.
A memorial service is planned at a later date.
