SYRACUSE – Dolores E. “Dee” Gerber, 72, Syracuse, passed away at 12:06 p.m. Aug. 13, 2015, at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne.
She was born Feb. 5, 1943, in Goshen, to James Edward and Martha Mildred Richcreek Hapner. On June 4, 1960, in Syracuse, she married Allen R. Gerber, who survives in Syracuse.
She was a lifetime Syracuse area resident and attended Syracuse High School. She retired from Oakwood Hotel, Syracuse, and formerly worked at the Dixie Restaurant, Syracuse; Essex, Ligonier; Premier Window, Syracuse; and GTI, Leesburg.
She was a member of the Syracuse Baptist Church and Eagles Lodge, Syracuse. She formerly attended Solomon Creek United Methodist Church and Peoples Bible Church, Benton.
Also surviving are three sons: Ray (and spouse Melissa) Gerber, Milford; Rick and Ron (and spouse Stephanie) Gerber, all of Syracuse; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; three brothers, Jerry (and spouse Carolyn) Hapner, Fred (and spouse Ann) Hapner and Joe (and spouse JoAnn) Hapner, all of Syracuse. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Joyce Kitson.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St. Syracuse, with Pastor Brent Joy of the church officiating.
Calling is from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
