I realize that this subject can be a very difficult one to address. However, Mallory, as hate crimes specifically committed against individuals who practice homosexual acts occur, many feel that this issue shouldn't be addressed at all for fear of only adding to the hostile environment that many individuals that practice homosexual acts face.

You stated "it is truly upsetting." Are you not passing judgment against individuals for the way he or she believes? In the society in which we live, this issue can be addressed according to the word of God. God's laws are always for our good, although (non-believers) may see them as merely fiction. In the end, to the believers only obedience to the word of God can bring true freedom. I address this issue out of God's love for the individual that practice homosexual acts and for God to bless and enlighten them. God did not make imperfection and he sees each and every one of us the same. It is our choices and actions in life that cause us to be judged or discriminated against by our society.

Society has embraced many perverted sexual practices that are considered in the Bible as abominations to God. Homosexuality is among the list of deviate or abnormal sexual practices, however, there are many other practices that can be included as well: pornography, pedophilia, prostitution, bestiality, oral sex, phone sex and computer virtual reality sex, just to name a few of them.

The Bible clearly speaks about many of them. Any deviation from God's original plan for sex between a man and woman is still a sin in God's eyes. Homosexuality is an act, not a way of life. It's not congenial. It's acquired. For those who believe in scripture, it's unnatural and scripture clearly tells us those who do such things are committing abominators. Leviticus 18:22 (KJV): "Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind it is abomination." Is this the Bible verse you are referring to?

You're asking society to see homosexual individuals as equals. Homosexual is not a race. It is an act committed by an individual just like murder, where is the equality? Performing an act does not justify equivalence.

I have an open mind and open heart, and much compassion for my fellow man. I think of all the pain and hardships that we as a society inflict upon an individual because of a choice that they make. I don't think any person should be discriminated against because of their race, personal beliefs or sexual preferences, but I do believe a person should be enlightened with moral truth. As for observing the Day of Silence, yes I will observe this day with you in prayer that God will help society to see the perverseness of the world through His eyes and not our own, then maybe we call all rejoice in the Day of Truth.
