She was born July 2, 1934, in Blue River, Ky., to Hillard and Lillie Newsome Akers.
A Warsaw resident for 45 years, she retired from Jomac Inc., Warsaw. She also was employed by Penguin Point.
Survivors include six daughters: Carol Stewart, Abby (and spouse Dolinger) Daugherty, Grace (and spouse George) Shepherd, all of Warsaw; Barbara Schwartz, Etna Green; Leona (and spouse Mike) Townsend, Peru; and Tammy (and spouse John) Burnau, Winona Lake; four sons: Jimmy Jr. (and spouse Joyce) Marsillett, Blue Ridge, Ky.; James Ray Sr. (and spouse Mary Alice) Marsillett, William J. Marsillett, all of Warsaw; and Doug E. (and spouse Patricia) Marsillett, Claypool; five sisters; three brothers; 32 grandchildren; and 34 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Linda Hughes; a son, Donald Ray Hughes; and a great-grandchild, Johnnie Goble.
Private services will be at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw, with Pastor Rick Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Claypool.
Calling is from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral chapel.
