He was born Dec. 27, 1928, in Akron, to Russell and Martha Becraft Love. On Sept. 6, 1951, in Mishawaka, he married Marjorie Plotner, who survives in Warsaw.
He retired in 1988 from Sun Metal Products, working in research and development. He was in the U.S. Navy reserves then going active Army serving in the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Warsaw American Legion Post 49. He attended Dutchtown Brethren Church and enjoyed bowling, golfing and woodworking.
Also surviving are three sons: Carl (and spouse Kathy) Love, Warsaw; David (and spouse Chris) Love, Middlebury; and Dale Love, Claypool; a daughter, Brenda (and spouse Duane) Roberts, Leesburg; seven grandchildren, one in the U.S. Air Force stationed in Guam; and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Royce and Dick Love.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw, with Pastor Denny Bollenbacher officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw, with military honors by Warsaw American Legion Post 49, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1126 and Indiana ARNG Honor Guard.
Calling is from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral chapel.
