Derby Day Party Planned At The Pier Restaurant At Oakwood Resort

SYRACUSE – Oakwood Resort announced its Third Annual Derby Day Party at The Pier Restaurant will be from 11:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. May 7.
The professional culinary team at The Pier Restaurant will be creating a special menu that features Kentucky Hot Browns, Burgoo Stew, Pork Belly Sliders and unique drink specials that include such race day favorites as Mint Juleps and Oaks Lily’s, according to a press release from Oakwood.
The Pier staff also will award prizes for the Best Dressed Guest, the Most Creative Hat, Most Elegant Hat and Best Overall Hat. Guests attending this special event also can participate in a corn hole competition, take advantage of a “Do-It-Yourself” photo booth and enjoy the one-of-a-kind Bloody Mary cart where the drinks are created tableside.
Hometown Heroes will provide live entertainment featuring a wide variety of music from 2 to 5 p.m.
Guests are encouraged to secure their reservations early by calling 574-457-8700, the release states.
“Our Derby Day Party is always a fun event,” said Restaurant Manager Aaron Smith. “We always enjoy creating special memories with and for our guests.”
Oakwood Resort is in Syracuse on the edge of Lake Wawasee, Indiana’s largest natural lake.
