DePuy Continues History Of United Way Excellence

DePuy has shown excellence once again for Kosciusko County through its United Way employee campaign.
Again this year, DePuy has reached a total for our community. DePuy ran a one-day employee "Mardi Gras Blitz" Oct. 21. Key Leader Gordon Van Ummerson and his team of Kathy Susaraba, Roger Boggs and Tony Lopez planned employee events and rewards for achievement.
Employees enjoyed a Mardi Gras fest with food, jazz music and many great giveaways. A silent auction for items such as golf sessions, framed pictures, front row parking spaces and dinner for four were incentives for employees to participate in giving. During the one-day blitz, DePuy U.S. President Diogo Moreirz-Rato started off the employee meetings by endorsing the United Way and all it does for the community.
Following his leadership, employees were educated about the United Way and shown the 2004 video, which tells a story of a person who was touched by donor dollars.
When asked to give, DePuy employees continued their history of giving by running an efficient, educational campaign this year. DePuy employees raised more than $150,000 for the residents of Kosciusko County.
DePuy's success was due to the campaign team sharing with employees about the values of United Way in the community. DePuy's long tradition of giving grows from 1895, when founder Revra Depuy decided he wanted to do something different and improve a medical technique for others.
DePuy created a fiber splint to replace the wooden barrel staves used to set fractures. Without being mindful of others, the business would not have been successful. Now 109 years later, DePuy's roots are seen by the way employees continue to be community-minded and give to others.
The United Way of Kosciusko County and the community show gratitude to DePuy employees for their dedication to the campaign. United Way is about making changes for the long-term, not just short-term solutions. Every time an employee is educated about the United Way, rewards come back to our community.
DePuy understands that community is "what matters." [[In-content Ad]]
