He was born March 3, 1942, in Norwood, Ohio, to Lige C. and Margaret Kidd Hoskins. On Nov. 28, 1964, he married Clara Cornelius, who survives in Warsaw.
He was a resident of Warsaw since 1981, and at that time he was attending Grace Theological Seminary in Winona Lake. He was enlisted in the U.S. Navy from 1959-1987 as an air traffic controller and as an officer recruiter. After retiring in 1987, he worked for Zimmer Inc. of Warsaw and Warsaw Community School Corp. Transportation Department. For several months he was in the mission field in the Philippines, and then he served in Pensacola, Fla., with Mt. Zion Ministries. He was a member of Grace Fellowship Church, Bremen.
Also surviving are two daughters, Tracy (and spouse Ron) Reynolds, Warsaw, and Kim (and spouse Darrius) Wright, Cincinnati, Ohio; and nine grandchildren: Natalie, Austin, Jacob, Sam, Josiah, Kendra, Isaac, Jalen and Micah. He was preceded in death by his father, Lige C. Hoskins; mother and stepfather: Margaret and Orlando Hesse; and his sister, Phyllis Miller.
Services are at 10 a.m. Friday at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw, with Pastor Jon Hueni officiating. A military graveside service will follow at 1 p.m. at Marion National Cemetery.
Calling is from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
