Dennis L. “Mooch Man” Hersch, 62, Warsaw, passed away at 8:39 p.m. March 18, 2015, in Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw.
He was born May 23, 1952, in Warsaw, to Frank J. and Bonnie J. Blankenship Hersch.
He served his country in the U.S. Army from 1969 to 1972 during the Vietnam Conflict with 52 Bravo and Combat Engineers.
After moving back to Warsaw in 1990, he worked as an auto body painter for Explorer Van, where he retired.  He was a member of American Legion Post #49, Warsaw, and Wounded Warrior Project. He was also heavily involved with volunteering for Animal Welfare League of Kosciusko County, Toys for Tots and the Veterans Administration, helping with donations, giving of his time and giving care packages.
He is survived by his brother, Dan R. Kindle, Altoona, Pa.; his sister, Anita Hartley, Florida; and several nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Linda Lorraine Lyons Shafer; and his beloved dog, Coley.
There are no services or visitation planned. Burial is at 1:30 p.m. March 28 at Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw, with military honors by American Legion Post #49 and VFW Post #1196, both of Warsaw.
