He was born Feb. 18, 1936, in Rochester, to Kenneth W. and Leona Good Taylor. On July 11, 1956, he married Marcia Hunneshagen, who survives.
He served in the U.S. Army, Indiana National Guard, Florida National Guard and Army Reserves. He was a marksman and sharpshooter. A communication specialist in Headquarters Co. of the 69th, he was selected for his soldierly appearance, knowledge of duties and military courtesy. He was a member of the BIG RED ONE. He retired from Diamond Trucking Co.
Also surviving are two daughters, Sally (and spouse Alan) Sterk and Sara (and spouse Ron) Kruger, all of Akron; a son, Samual (and spouse Jody) Taylor, Logansport; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Cheryl (and spouse Gary) Bowman and Nancy (and spouse Kevin) Bammerlin, all of Plymouth. He was preceded in death by a sister.
A graveside service will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday in Rochester IOOF Cemetery with the Rev. Mimi Tucker officiating and with military rites by members of the LeRoy Shelton American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Good Family Funeral Home, Rochester, is in charge of arrangements.
