Demos' Fault

Remember when you were a kid on the playground and there were people who pushed people around and got what they wanted? We are experiencing this in Washington now.

We have a political party that has caused our financial crisis. They caused the problem and are reaping the benefits. Chris Dodd (D-Conn.) is chairman of the Senate Banking Committee and Barney Frank (D-Mass.) is chairman of the House Banking Committee. They have fought for years to keep regulatory measures from being passed to rein in the mortgage lending for housing. Some homeowners, is it a right or a privilege, could not afford their homes. This created a "housing crisis" that has perpetuated this situation. In reality, more than 95 percent of the homeowners are not having problems with their home mortgages.

President Bush asked as early as April 2001, and least 11 other times after that, for legislative measures to control the situation. Senator Elizabeth Dole tried once and Senator McCain tried twice to get measures to control the lending industry. Both Republican Senators lost and the bullies got their way. Whose fault is this mess? Why, it's the Bush administration of course. The bullies may get the White House and keep control of the House and Senate.

What did Senator Clinton say: "Be careful of what you wish for - you just might get it." So far, it's working like a charm.
