He was born Aug. 31, 1921, in Chicago, to Frank and Amy Ritter Schaetzle Sr. On Dec. 6, 1941, in Bourbon, he married Alice Irene Stutzman, who preceded him in death Oct. 30, 2004.
He graduated from Bourbon High School and he retired from Bendix Corporation (now Allied-Signal), South Bend, after 35 years.
Surviving are two sons, Delbert “Carl” Schaetzle, Bourbon, and Joseph Schaetzle, Hudson, Fla.; three grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; a grandson, Derk Schaetzle; two sisters, Dorothy Tyler and Lena Askins; and four brothers: Herbert, Frank, Norm and Fred Schaetzle.
Cremation will take place and no services are planned at this time. Cremation Services of Kosciusko County, Warsaw, is in charge of all arrangements.
