According to a Warsaw Community Schools press release, Deeds is a graduate of Purdue University, where he attained his bachelor’s degree in secondary English education as well as his master’s degree in educational administration and supervision.
Bringing a passion for student success both in and out of the classroom, Deeds served as a middle school educator from August 2006 to July 2012, the press release states. In 2012, he transitioned into his administrative roles at Lakeview.
In addition to his service to students through his career, Deeds also brings his talents to several school and community organizations.
Deeds noted he hopes to instill his motivation for both personal and professional excellence in students and staff through example, vision, leadership, enrichment and drive while taking Harrison Elementary to the next level of academic excellence by fostering a safe and collaborative culture, according to the release.
“We are very excited for Matt to assume the role of principal at Harrison Elementary,” said Superintendent Dr. David Hoffert. “Matt is a school leader who has excelled in the Warsaw system as an English language arts teacher and assistant principal.
