NORTH WEBSTER - North Webster Community Center's board of directors plans a dedication ceremony open to the public May 2, at 2:15 p.m. An open house will follow.
The North Webster Community Center, a not-for- profit corporation, was established in 2002 to restore and preserve the former elementary school. The NWCC board of directors chose to take on this $1.4-million renovation project, transforming the former school into a building that could be used by the entire community.
The conversion began with the installation of new heating and air conditioning. The doors officially re-opened to the public March 1.
At Sunday's open house, visitors can tour the entire center and get a sample of the center's programs offered to adults and youth by the Kosciusko Community YMCA, the Senior Primelife Enrichment Center, the North Webster-Tippecanoe Township Library, the NWCC Baseball/Softball Coalition, the center's activities board and the Lakeland Youth Center. The building has meeting and conference rooms and space for continuing education classes, concerts, cultural events and the senior lunch program.
For more information about the NWCC, the grand opening or the dedication ceremony, call Lynn Stevens, executive director at 834-1600, Ext. 0, or contact her by e-mail at [email protected] [[In-content Ad]]
