He was born April 9, 1927, in Indianapolis, to David T. and Antoinette Domershausen O'Connor. On Feb. 25, 2006, in Lehigh Acres, Fla., he married Linda D. Broekers, who survives.
He attended Shortridge High School, Indianapolis. He retired as president and co-owner of Holly Park Mobile Homes, Shipshewana, in 1991. He formerly worked at International Telephone & Telegraph Corp., Fort Wayne, and was executive vice president of Liberty Homes, Syracuse, from 1969-81. He moved to Syracuse from Bristol in 1997. He lived in the Elkhart and Fort Wayne areas previously. He was a member of American Legion Post 223 and South Shore Golf Course, both in Syracuse. He formerly attended St. Martin de Porres Catholic Parish, Syracuse, and was a World War II Navy veteran.
Also surviving are four daughters: Kathleen O'Connor, Lafayette; Marjorie (and spouse David) Meacham, Phoenix, Ariz.; and Sharon (and spouse Steven) Rody and Patricia O'Connor, both of Elkhart; two sons, David (and spouse Elizabeth) O'Connor, Granger, and Michael (and spouse Carol) O'Connor, Palatine, Ill.; nine grandchildren; four sisters: Anna Stillwell, Chico, Calif.; Patty Lawrence, Greenwood; Theresa Moore, Indianapolis; and Antoinette Siler, Indianapolis. He was preceded in death by a son, three sisters and three brothers.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Martin de Porres Catholic Parish, Syracuse, with Father Richard Hire officiating. Burial will be in Syracuse Cemetery with military graveside rites by members of American Legion Post 223, Syracuse.
Calling is from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Owen Family Funeral Home, Syracuse, with a rosary services at 7:30 p.m.
