David Lee “Worm” Cordill, 69, passed away May 3, 2016, in his Warsaw home.
He was born Jan. 21, 1947, to Paul Russell and Phyllis Eileen Ettinger Cordill,
A lifetime Warsaw resident, he is a graduate of Warsaw High School, class of 1965. He was employed at RR Donnelley where he had worked for 35 years before retiring.
He enjoyed all things to do with cars – car auctions, car shows, but especially racing. He enjoyed NASCAR, with his favorite driver being Darrell Waltrip. He also enjoyed watching local drivers on the area’s many tracks and watching demolition derby. He enjoyed striking a deal at auctions and flea markets and he knew everyone, no matter where he went. Worm also was a professional Santa Claus and worked with Toys for Tots. He was a selfless, kind man to whom family meant everything.
Surviving are a son, David (and spouse Katrina) Webb, Burket; a daughter, Nicholle (and spouse Kyle) Probst, Mishawaka; three sisters: Ronna Rodocker and Cathy (and spouse Fred) Miller, all of Warsaw; and Sherryl (and spouse John) Finch, Irish Lake near North Webster; two brothers, Harle (and spouse Mary) Cordill and Dan (and spouse Cindy) Cordill, all of Warsaw; two grandchildren; a great-grandson; and a very large extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul R. Cordill, who died March 23, 1979, and Phyllis E. Cordill, who died May 7, 1995.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw, with Pastor Gary Boschain, First Christian Church, Warsaw, officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
Calling is one hour prior to the funeral service Saturday and from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today at Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw.
