David L. Hubler, 62, of 1102 Ind. 114, North Manchester, died at 3:50 p.m. April 16, 2007, at Wabash County Hospital.

He was born July 28, 1944, in Warsaw, to Charles Norman and Doris Davis Hubler. On Dec. 1, 1973, he married Nelda Carpenter, who survives.

A lifetime resident of Warsaw, he was a self-employed independent truck driver. He was a life member of American Legion Post 49, Warsaw, where he was the bugler for the Honor Guard and a Past Commander. He also was a member of the Sons of the American Legion. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps.

Also surviving are two daughters, Shannon and Michelle; five stepchildren: Ramona Howard, Pierceton; Henry D. Hatfield II, Roann; Tammy Mikel, Mentone; Sheri Conley, Servia; and Teresa Cleveland, Leesburg; a sister-in-law, Sandy Hubler, Warsaw; 14 stepgrandchildren; and 16 step-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Norman Hubler; and a sister, Rose Carpenter.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw, with Chaplain Tom Everett officiating. Burial will be in Harrison Center Cemetery, Atwood, with military honors by American Legion Post 49.

Calling is one hour prior to services Thursday at the funeral home.
