BREMEN – David J. Allen, 73, of Morris, Ill., and formerly of Bremen and Yellow Creek Lake Church of God Camp Ground, died June 14, 2012, in Walnut Grove Nursing Home, Morris.

He was born Jan. 3, 1939, in Spokane, Wash., to Oscar and Viola Tarbert Allen. On Nov. 10, 1962, in Bremen, he married Sandra Muffley, who survives.

He attended Bremen Community Schools. He worked with fiberglass his whole working career, retiring from Wabash Valley Manufacturing, Silver Lake. He attended the Church of God in Akron, Warsaw and Bremen.

Also surviving are a daughter, Terese (and spouse Timothy) Kukman, Morris, Ill.; a son, Tim (and spouse Jamie) Allen, Warsaw; three grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; two sisters, Charlotte (and spouse Calvin) Shumaker and Catherine (and spouse Dennis) Thornton all of Bremen; and four brothers: James (and spouse Delores) Allen, Fort Meyers, Fla.; Dale (and spouse Leah) Allen, Cape Coral, Fla.; and Gary (and spouse Georgina) Allen, Lake Havasu, Ariz.; and Daniel Allen, Wanatah. He was preceded in death by an infant son, two sisters and two brothers.

Service will be at 3 p.m. Friday at Mishler Funeral Home, Bremen, with Pastor Verdon Feldman officiating. Burial will be in Bremen Cemetery.

Calling is from 1 to 3 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
