Danny Lee Banghart, 70, of 5713 N. 2nd St., Oswego, died at 5 p.m. Dec. 5, 2008, in his residence.

He was born Nov. 27, 1938, in Warsaw, to Norman and Virginia Van Vactor Banghart.

A lifetime Kosciusko County resident, he retired from R.R. Donnelley & Sons, Warsaw, and was former owner of Banghart Rescue Vehicle Service. He was a member of Warsaw Moose Lodge. He was a 1956 Warsaw High School graduate and served in the U.S. Air Force from 1957-61.

Surviving are two daughters, Tina (and spouse Steve) Miller, Fort Wayne, and Melissa Conley, Greenville, Ala.; a son, Kristin Lee Dirck, San Francisco, Calif.; three sisters, Mary Ann La Fountain, Nancy Sue Stover and Lorenna Rohrer, all of Warsaw; a brother, Stephen Banghart, Warsaw; two grandchildren, Colin Miller, Fort Wayne. He was preceded in death by a son, T. Stephen Dirck.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw, with Ronnie Sams officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw, with military honors by American Legion Post 49 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1126.

Calling is from 1 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
