Daniel Vires, 65, of Warsaw, died at 5:56 a.m. Dec. 1, 2008, in his residence.

He was born Feb. 4, 1943, in Jackson, Ky., to George and Stella Burton Vires. On June 9, 1962, in Atwood, he married Lola Waddle, who survives.

Living most of his life in Warsaw, he was a truck driver for Creighton Brothers and Woody Everly, retiring in 2000. He was a U.S. Army veteran. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars 1126, Warsaw, and a former member of Eagles Aerie 1939, Warsaw.

Also surviving are a daughter, Ginger Bays, Warsaw; a son, George Vires, Warsaw; five sisters: Altonia Conley, South Whitley; Jean Sleeth, Claypool; Lorena Graham, Eaton, Ohio; Creola Conley, Plymouth; and Stella Jo Hyden, Johnson City, Tenn.; and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sisters and a brother.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw, with Pastor Dennis Bollenbacher officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw, with military honors by American Legion Post 49 and VFW Post 1126.

Calling is from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
