NORTH MANCHESTER - Daniel R. Sandow, 81, of North Manchester, died at 4:30 a.m. July 27, 2009, in his residence.

He was born Aug. 11, 1927, in Milwaukee, Wis., to Albert E. and Clara B. Stanhke Sandow. On June 24, 1950, he married Shirley V. Olsen, who survives.

He was a retired printer with the Milwaukee (Wis.) Journal-Sentinel after 37 years. After retirement, he was a starter marshall at Muskego (Wis.) Lakes Country Club. He was a World War II U.S. Navy veteran. He was a member of the Typographical Union.

Also surviving are a son, Todd (and spouse Kathy) Sandow, North Manchester; a daughter, Wendy (and spouse Douglas) Peebles, Vancouver, Wash.; a brother, Richard (and spouse Dorothy) Sandow, Goleta, Calif.; two step-grandchildren; and a step-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by a brother.

Services will be at 11 a.m. (CST) Monday at Mount Hope Lutheran Church, West Allis, Wis., with Pastor Jennifer Carlson officiating. Burial will be in Highland Memorial Park Cemetery, New Berlin, Wis.

Calling is from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at McKee Mortuary, North Manchester, and two hours prior to the service Monday at the church.
