Daniel Fletcher Shanbeck, 83, Dade City, Fla., and formerly of Warsaw, passed away May 17, 2015, in Dade City. He was born July 6, 1931, in Pierceton, to Alpheus A. and Victoria Stinebaugh Shanbeck. On Dec. 24, 1975, in Lutz, Fla., he married Virginia P. Pittman, who survives in Dade City. He was a 1953 graduate of Manchester College. He entered the U.S. Army June 15, 1953, in Indianapolis and served during the Korean War. He was an instructor at Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, Ala. CPL Daniel Fletcher Shanbeck was honorably discharged June 14, 1956, through Huntsville. After his discharge from the Army, he pursued a career in electronics with RCA in Greenland and Kwajalein, Marshall Islands, in the Pacific, until his retirement in 1974. He attended North Winona Church of the Brethren when living in Kosciusko County. He enjoyed electronics and music. He was preceded in death by his father, Alpheus A. Shanbeck, who died Jan. 12, 1964; his mother, Victoria Shanbeck, who died Aug. 7, 1977; two sisters, Thelma M. Lozier, who died Sept. 18, 2004, and Gladys M. Kerlin, who died Aug. 18, 1992; and a brother, Dale Shanbeck, who died Jan. 4, 2002. Services were at 1 p.m. today at Titus Funeral Home, 2000 E. Sheridan St., Warsaw, with Pastor Bob Jarboe, Kosciusko Home Care and Hospice chaplain, officiating. Burial is in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw. ***** Memorials to Kosciusko Home Care and Hospice, P.O.
