He was born April 6, 1941, in Greenfield, to Joseph and Edith Ross Rife. On Oct. 16, 1998, in Warsaw, he married Judy Hohman, who survives.
He started with the Warsaw Fire Dept. in 1967, retiring in 1998. He held many positions with the department from driver, firefighter, captain and assistant chief. He was the owner of Rife Electric until 1977. He was a member of Eagles and Moose lodges, both in Warsaw, and The Sons of the American Legion Post 253, North Webster. He loved his little red truck and his dogs.
Surviving are seven daughters: Angie (and spouse Doug) Reed, Leesburg; Jodie Yeazel and Kelly Jefferson, both of Warsaw; Angie Alexander, North Manchester; Kimberly Minear, Florida; and Paula (and spouse Terry) Wood and Sherri (and spouse Shawn) Bradford, all of Warsaw; a son, Micheal (and spouse Christy) Summers, Warsaw; many grandchildren; and a great-grandson. He is preceded in death by his parents.
A celebration of life will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Warsaw Fireman’s Building, 1013 E. Arthur St. on Pike Lake, Warsaw.
Calling is from 2 to 6 p.m. Saturday at the fireman’s building.
McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, 2290 Provident Court, Warsaw, is in charge of arrangements.
