The scholarships, named in memory of former students Lori Rigsby, Jacquline Egolf, Ashleigh Bruner and Emma Martin and former dance parent Cindy Crane, were developed to offer opportunities to students through financial assistance and also encourage students through the recognition of their abilities and achievements.
Applicants were divided into age categories and each submitted a fictional story and how they would tell it through the art of dance.
The recipients, Madilynn Werbianskyj, daughter of Nicole Eby and John Werbianskyj; Anne Petro, daughter of Mike and Miechi Petro; Alliana Fitzpatrick, daughter of Johnna Jones and Roger Fitzpatrick; Madison Shipley, daughter of Steve and Melanie Shipley; and Olivia James, daughter of Chad and Heather James, each received a class scholarship for the 2012-2013 annual season.
Debra Collier's School of Dance has been educating students since 1977 and offers a wide variety of classes for dancers of all ages and levels. The studio provides opportunities for students to develop their interest in dance, including performance groups and fun monthly themes.
