Dana Robert Bowers, 74, of 218 Argonne Road, Warsaw, died at 3 a.m. June 21, 2008, in his residence.

He was born Oct. 4, 1933, in Archbold, Ohio, to Dana Elmo and Bernice Irene Rudy Bowers. On Oct. 24, 1953, in Warsaw, he married Carolyn Dianne Loher, who survives.

He was owner and operator of Bowers Service Center, Argonne Road, Warsaw, until 1982. Then moving to Florida, he was general manager of Electric Mobility, Sebring, Fla., retiring in 1996. He actively worked in the Sebring Flea Market where he had Dana's Den. A 40-year Kosciusko County resident, he was a member of Leesburg Grace Brethren Church and a U.S. Army veteran, serving as a sergeant in Infantry and Intelligence Divisions.

Also surviving are a daughter, Sheryl (and spouse Mike) Johnson, Warsaw; a son, Daryl Bowers, Alabama; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a sister, June Morehead, Warsaw.

A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, Warsaw, with the Rev. D. Robert Griffith officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.

No calling is planned.
