Dan A. Kinsey, beloved brother, uncle and friend, passed away in his residence in Ninevah.

He was born May 26, 1949, in Warsaw, to Eugene and Eloise Kinsey.

He graduated from Warsaw Community High School and earned a bachelor's and master's degree in education from Ball State University. He retired from 37 years of teaching this past December. He was a dynamic and innovative English teacher at McCutcheon High School for 36 years, where he also directed theater productions for 17 years. He was recently recognized as a true professional and honored by having the auditorium named The Dan Kinsey Auditorium.

He shared his joy of what a great life he has had. He has traveled to more places than he could ever imagine. He has wonderful aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He will be missed, but family and friends celebrate his homecoming. What a gift to have had him in their lives.

Surviving are a brother, Mike (and spouse Judy) Kinsey; a sister, Jody (and spouse Gary) Hamman; nephews and nieces, Sean Kinsey, Amy Ireland, Megan Kinsey Iqbal, Ashley Jackson, Hilary Hamman and Marissa Lee; four great-nephews; and a great-niece.

A celebration service will begin at 4 p.m. Saturday at Broadway United Methodist Church, 609 E. 29th St., Indianapolis.

Calling will be at 2 p.m. until the service Saturday at the church.
