Dallas W. King, 79, went to be with his Lord at 12:50 p.m. April 22, 2009, at Miller's Merry Manor, Warsaw.

He was born March 11, 1930, in Kokomo, to Otis Andrew and Laura Mae Helvey King. On Jan. 28, 1950, in Lafayette, he married Phyllis J. Brinson, who survives.

He was a self-employed custodian, retiring in 1994. He also had been a custodian for Warsaw Community Schools for five years. He was a member of Warsaw Wesleyan Church.

He lived in Warsaw since 1962, coming from Lafayette.

Also surviving are three sons: Richard (and spouse Mary) King, Warsaw; John King, Mesa, Ariz.; Roger (and spouse Val) King, Warsaw; three daughters: Sarah (and spouse Larry) Dunn, Winona Lake; Deana (and spouse Dan) Freeman, Warsaw; Rita (and spouse Tim) Tharp, Muncie; 20 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Lloyd (and spouse Naomi) King, Ladson, S.C., and Jerry (and spouse Viola) King, Goldsboro, N.C. He was preceded in death by four brothers: Robert, Richard, Basil and Harold King; and a granddaughter, Christina King.

Services were Sunday at Warsaw Wesleyan Church with Pastors Andrew Weaver and Gale Janofski of Warsaw Wesleyan Church, officiating. Burial was in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.

Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw, was in charge of arrangements.
