BOURBON – Dale L. McCollough, 86, Bourbon, passed away Feb. 25, 2016, at his home.
He was born Sept. 14, 1929, in Bourbon, to Harry and Frances Kitch McCollough. On March 3, 1958, he married the former Judy Gilley, who survives.
He was a lifelong resident of Bourbon. He farmed and retired from the United State Postal service as a rural letter carrier in 2000. Dale enjoyed reading, collecting canes, banks and Bourbon memorabilia. His greatest joy was spending time with his family and friends. He was a member of the Inwood United Methodist Church. He honorably served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was the Democratic precinct chairman for Bourbon for 60 years.
Also surviving are five children: Doreen Kay Grayless, Linton; Kerry L. Emonds, JoLynne McCollough, Kevin Dale McCollough and Michael Lee McCollough, all of Bourbon. He was blessed with five grandchildren: Megan Wilson, Erin (and spouse Daniel) Jerison, Andrew (and spouse Shandi) Wilson, Kylie Edmonds and Caleb McCollough; and a great-grandchild, Aiden Wilson. He also was blessed to have 20 aunts and uncles along with 85 cousins. He was preceded in death only by his parents.
Services will at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Deaton-Clemens Funeral Home, Bourbon, with Pastor Charles Krieg officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Bourbon.
Calling is from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
