Editor, Times-Union:
I sought and won the Republican nomination for Indiana House District 22 because this conservative, northern Indiana district should be represented by a conservative Republican.
Hoosiers need to keep government and taxes in check so that businesses, families and charities can thrive. The National Federation of Independent Business agrees with me and endorses my candidacy. So do the Lunchpail Republicans and the Indiana Family Action PAC.
We must never rest in our efforts to protect the unborn. I am steadfastly pro-life, and honored to have the backing of the Indiana Right to Life PAC.
The right to keep and bear arms is vital to a free people, and I am proud to be endorsed by the National Rifle Association and the Gun Owners of America.
Local control of education fits in well with my philosophy of state sovereignty, and I am pleased at my endorsement by Hoosiers Against Common Core.
People from all backgrounds are backing my campaign. Some are first-time campaigners and others are long-time political veterans. I have support from union members and from small business owners. Republican party regulars have joined our cause, and so have members of the conservative grass roots. We welcome support from conservative independents and Democrats as well.
Since March, I have knocked on thousands of your doors and talked with so many of you. I believe I am an excellent fit for this district.
I pledge to listen respectfully to each of my constituents, and I ask for your vote Nov. 4.
