Cynthia 'Pearl' Whitaker

Cynthia “Pearl” Whitaker, 87,  went home to be with the lord July 6, 2012.

She was born Nov. 8, 1924, in Prestonsburg, Ky., to Millard and Eva Adams Prater. On Aug. 16, 1943, she married the love of her life, the Rev. Albert Whitaker, who preceded her in death.

She lived most of her life in Warsaw. She and her husband are  the founders of Pentecostal Lighthouse Church, Warsaw. She retired from Da-Lite Screen, Warsaw, in 1988 after 21 years of service.

Surviving are two sons, James (and spouse Barbara) Whitaker, Warsaw, and Sam (and spouse Jennifer) Whitaker, Claypool; a daughter, Kay (and spouse Thomas) Miller, Warsaw; 11 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. She also was preceded in death by a grandson, three brothers and seven sisters.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at  Pentecostal Lighthouse Church, 125 Fawley St., Warsaw, with the Rev. Eugene Haney officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.

Calling is from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the church.

McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, 2290 Provident Court, Warsaw, is in charge of arrangements.
