She was born June 8, 1953, in Wabash, to Kennith and Jenine Michael. She was married to Frank Yensel, who survives.
She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter and sister. She worked as a nurse in children’s hospitals for nearly 40 years. Recently she was a nurse practitioner at Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus, Ohio, for the past 13 years.
She was a one-of-a-kind kindred spirit. She always focused on the needs of others before hers. She flourished in her profession with a positive “can-do” attitude and was unafraid to take on a difficult situation. Her love for her family and friends will be greatly missed.
She was also an avid Indiana Hoosier basketball fan and loved her college basketball.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her parents, South Whitley; two sons Phillip (and spouse Rachel) and Stuart (and spouse Mindy) Yensel; three stepchildren: Thomas, Tracie and Tiffany Yensel; nine step-grandchildren; one step-great-grandchild; two brothers, Marvin (and spouse Jan) Michael, Claypool, and Ben (and spouse Deeda) Michael, Pierceton; and two sisters, Gwen (and spouse Brock) Ostrom and Beverly (and spouse Kris) Dierks, all of Claypool.
A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Liberty Mills Church of the Brethren with the Rev. Kelly Beutler officiating. Her final resting place will be in Fischers Cemetery, Sidney.
