Cut Government

The flaw in how Progressives debate is that they claim that you are wrong, but try to pass themselves off as the true experts. Ms. Collins does not understand my assertions about Wilson and Göbbels, being together in the afterlife, wherever it is. My question to you is - do you know for certain that they are not together? Did Wilson call you last night to say he was in Heaven with Honey and good feelings, or just rotting in the ground? As for your thoughts on Reagan, Pinochet, and Hussein, I can speculate that, assuming the existence of Heaven and Hell, that Reagan is in Heaven, and Pinochet and Hussein are roasting in Hell with Wilson, Göbbels, Hitler, Idi Amin, Kim Il-Sung, and all the other individuals who denied the rights of the people for their own personal gain.

Ms. Collins is also claiming that corporations are running this country; however, the leading visitor to the White House over the last two years is Andy Stern, the retiring head of SEIU. Labor unions were able to lobby the government in order to secure their big exemptions for their health insurance plans.

This government does not believe in the multi-national corporation and is not in the business of allowing corporations to produce the products of human innovation. This government wants you to believe that they can create jobs and that you have the right a job, a right to health care and a right to be here illegally. If corporations were truly running this country, our unemployment would be low, and our economy would not be in the druthers that we as a country are in right now.

The American Dream is not a right; you have to work for it. Ms. Collins claims that Bush's policies are not progressivism - what about the Patriot Act? Is that another example of government getting involved and denying us of our rights? Bennie Hively claims that the oil spill in the gulf is the fault of capitalism. Here is what really happened. BP donated hundreds of thousands of dollars in exchange for favors such as not needing safety equipment in order to prevent the same spill that government regulations were supposed to prevent. It was not the fault of George W. Bush. If a corporation does something illegal, it should not be investigated in the halls of Congress, but prosecuted in a court of law.

Ms. Collins, you also wonder what social programs I would advocate cutting to achieve a smaller government, and the short answer is all of them. Social programs are not a duty of the federal government and they are not to provide a safety net for anyone who may be struggling. The federal government needs to cut Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, HUD and so on. While we're at it, let's eliminate the Departments of Energy, HUD, the Federal Reserve, the IRS and Education Department and get the government out of aspects of our lives that they are not supposed to be involved with.
