Cromwell Stabbing Victim ID'd, Attacker in Court

Joseph Lee Coon, 27, Cromwell, was attacked by Kenny Ferguson, 61, of 12021 Raggedy Ann Road, Cromwell, Tuesday night with a box cutter. Coon was transported to the Kosciusko Community Hospital and later released.
A motive as to why Ferguson attacked Coon has not be released by the Indiana State Police.
Ferguson had his initial hearing this morning in Kosciusko County Superior Court I. Ferguson was charged with battery with a deadly weapon, a Class C felony.
During the hearing Judge Duane Huffer agreed to give Ferguson a court-appointed attorney as he continues to look at Ferguson’s financial records.
Huffer then entered a plea of not guilty and ordered Ferguson to be in court for a status hearing Sept. 10, at 11:40 a.m. and a pre-trial conference Oct. 29 at 8:30 a.m. According to the Kosciusko County Prosecutors Office.
Ferguson is still in the Kosciusko County Jail on $5,000 bond.
