According to Warsaw-Wayne Township Fire Chief Mike Brubaker, units were called to a trailer fire in Merrywood Trailer Park off of U.S. 30 Wednesday around 10:30 a.m. Brubaker said when units arrived, the trailer was already fully engulfed. There were no occupants inside at the time of the incident and no injuries were reported. Brubaker said no one currently resides in the trailer, but residents were planning to move onto the lot soon. The fire took approximately 45 minutes to get under control and Multi-Township EMS and Winona Lake and Pierceton Fire Departments assisted. Investigators with fire Squad 70 are investigating the blaze and the cause is still unknown. The property was a total loss.
