Credit Union Awards Scholarships

To be eligible for the scholarships, it was required that all applicants be entering their freshman or sophomore year of college and be a member or have a parent or guardian who is a member of Beacon Credit Union.
Applicants were asked to complete a short application form and submit a 200- to 300-word essay on the following question: "As a young adult preparing to enter the workforce, what can you do to assure for a financially independent future for yourself?"[[In-content Ad]]Of the 81 applicants, eight students were awarded scholarships by the Beacon Credit Union Scholarship Committee. The local recipient was Kyle Lahman, Manchester High School.
