Crash Fatal To Manchester Man

NORTH MANCHESTER -ÊA North Manchester man is dead and a Silver Lake man is injured following a Thursday evening accident on Packerton Road.

Walter G. Grossnickle, 89, of 805 W. Thorn St., North Manchester, was pronounced dead at Kosciusko County Hospital by Kosciusko County Coroner John Sadler. Grossnickle suffered severe head injuries.

Grossnickle was heading south on Packerton Road when he rear-ended a skid loader driven by James G. Lehman, 27, of 2350 E. CR 1200S, Silver Lake.

Police did not find signs of braking at the scene of the crash.

Lehman suffered head and back injuries and was taken to Kosciusko Community Hospital where he was listed in fair condition.

The Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department responded to the scene of the crash and was assisted by the Silver Lake Police Department, Silver Lake Fire Department, Sidney Fire Department and Multi-Township EMS. [[In-content Ad]]
