William and Jennifer Covey, Huntington, announce the engagement of their daughter, Michelle Covey, Huntington, to Troy Payton, Huntington. He is the son of Alan and Tina Palmer, Wabash, and Michael and Michele Payton, Warsaw.

The bride-to-be is a medical assistant employed with Parkview Medical Group, Huntington. She also is employed at Ulta Cosmetics, Fort Wayne. She is a 2003 graduate of Huntington North High School and received an associate's degree in applied science in medical assisting from Indiana Business College in 2008.

The groom-elect is the IT Project Manager at Our Sunday Visitor in Huntington. He is a 1999 graduate of Wabash High School and earned a bachelor's degree in management information systems with a minor in computer science from Tri-State University in 2003.
