Riddle Sentenced For Auto Theft

Geoffrey Riddle, 19, of Ind. 19, Etna Green, recently was sentenced in Kosciusko Superior Court to one year in prison for auto theft, a Class D felony, as part of a plea agreement. He was ordered to pay court costs.

Shepherd Enters Plea Agreement

Brady L. Shepherd, 16, of Ind. 19, Mentone, recently was sentenced in Kosciusko Superior Court to four years in prison for fraud, a Class C felony, as part of a plea agreement. For one count of escape, a Class D felony, he was ordered to serve 1-1/2 years in prison; and for one count of auto theft, a Class D felony, he was ordered to serve 1-1/2 years in prison. All sentences will be served concurrently. The sentence to the Indiana Department of Corrections was suspended, and he was ordered to spend two years in the Kosciusko County Jail and two years on probation. As part of his probation, he must pay a $100 administrative, $100 initial and $20 monthly probation user's fees. He also must get his GED within one year of release from jail and then enroll in and attend a minimum of one class per session at IVY Tech or an equivalent institution of higher education. He must pay $458 restitution. One count of theft will be dropped as part of the plea agreement.

Thompson Sentenced For Burglary

O'Brien C. Thompson, 18, of Canterbury Lane, Warsaw, recently was sentenced in Kosciusko Superior Court to six years in prison for burglary, a Class B felony, as part of a plea agreement. As part of the agreement, a second count of theft was dismissed. The prison sentence was suspended and he was ordered to serve three years in the Kosciusko County Work Release Program as long as he remains qualified. The remaining three years of the sentence will be served on probation. As part of his probation, he must pay a $100 administrative, $100 initial and $20 monthly probation users' fees. He also was ordered to attend a minimum of one class per session at IVY Tech or an equivalent institution of higher learning and pay $6,585.30 restitution before he is discharged from probation.

Suspended Sentence Meted For Fraud

Donald Grevenstuk, 21, of New Paris, recently was sentenced in Kosciusko Superior Court to 1-1/2 years in prison for fraud, a Class D felony, as part of a plea agreement. The sentence was suspended and he was placed on probation for the length of the sentence. As part of his probation, he must pay a $100 administrative, $100 initial and $100 monthly probation users' fees. He also was ordered to pay restitution in the amount of $728.83. One count of theft was dismissed as part of the plea agreement.

Ousley Sentenced For Theft

Justin Ousley, 20, of CR 800S, Claypool, recently was sentenced in Kosciusko Superior Court to 1-1/2 years in prison for theft, a Class D felony, as part of a plea agreement. He was ordered to pay court costs.

Possession Of Cocaine Nets 3 Years

Rodney A. Bowman, 30, of Fort Wayne, recently was sentenced in Kosciusko Circuit Court to three years in prison for possession of cocaine less than three grams, a Class D felony. He was ordered to pay a $1 fine and a $200 drug interdiction fee.

Vega Enters Plea Agreement

Oscar Vega, 18, of Clark Street, Warsaw, recently was sentenced in Kosciusko Circuit Court to four years in prison for possession of cocaine more than three grams, a Class C felony, as a lesser included offense of dealing in cocaine, a Class A felony, as part of a plea agreement. He also was ordered to pay $100 fine and a $200 drug interdiction fee. All but 390 days of his sentence were suspended and he was placed on probation for the remainder of the term. As part of his probation, he must pay a $100 administrative, $100 initial and $25 monthly probation user's fees.

Hatcher Sentenced For Auto Theft

Darrell Hatcher, 21, of Old 13, Pierceton, recently was sentenced in Kosciusko Circuit Court to 1-1/2 years in prison for auto theft, a Class D felony. He was ordered to pay a $100 fine and separated restitution judgements as declared by the court.

Church Receives Suspended Sentence

Nicole D. Church, 19, of Elkhart, recently was sentenced in Kosciusko Circuit Court to two years in prison for forgery, a Class C felony. She was ordered to pay a $100 fine. The sentence was suspended and she was ordered to serve the term on probation. As part of her probation, she must pay a $100 administrative, $100 initial and $25 monthly probation user's fees.

Brito Enters Plea Agreement

George M. Brito, 19, of Wooster Road, Pierceton, recently was sentenced in Kosciusko Circuit Court to 1-1/2 years in jail for criminal recklessness with a deadly weapon, a Class D felony as part of a plea agreement. He was ordered to pay a $100 fine. The final year of the sentence is suspended for probation. As part of his probation, he must pay a $100 administrative, $100 initial and $25 monthly probation user's fees. He also was ordered to pay the Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department $2,737.12 for extradition fees.

Baker Sentenced For Marijuana Charge

Anthony Baker, 20, of Anchorage Road, Warsaw, recently was sentenced in Kosciusko Circuit Court to six months in jail for possession of marijuana, a Class A misdemeanor, the court having reduced the grade of offense from a Class D felony, as part of a plea agreement. He was ordered to pay a $100 fine and a $200 drug interdiction fee.

Fraud Charge Nets 14-Months In Prison

Edward B. Franklin, 30, of Topeka, recently was sentenced in Kosciusko Circuit Court to 14 months in prison for attempted prescription fraud, a Class D felony as part of a plea agreement. He was ordered to pay a $100 fine.

Kehr Sentenced For Cocaine Possession

Brian L. Kehr, 49, of Pittsburgh Street, Syracuse, recently was sentenced in Kosciusko Circuit Court to 1-1/2 years in prison for possession of cocaine less than three grams, a Class D felony. The sentence was suspended for probation and he was ordered to pay a $100 fine. As part of his probation, he must pay a $100 administrative, $100 initial and $25 monthly probation user's fees.
