County OKs Zoning Requests

The Kosciusko County Board of Zoning Appeals Hearing Officer Vic Virgil approved the following requests Monday:

• Case No. 05115E - Leonard Foyle's petition to allow the construction of an 18 by 21 foot carport for personal use in a commercial district. The request is an exception for the purpose of the alteration of a non-conforming use (residence and plumbing business).

The property is on the east side of CR 300E and 115 feet south of EMS D24 Lane in Van Buren Township.

Also approved was Foyle's request to build the carport 28 feet from the east side road right of way.

• Case No. 05120E - Todd Glen's petition for an exception in a residential district to allow an oversized accessory building of 1,440 square feet. A 1,200-square-feet building is allowed.

The property is on the east side of EMS T25 Lane and 640 feet south of Stanton Road in Plain Township.

• Case No. 05261V - Wawasee Real Estate's petition for a variance to allow a sign 15 feet from the right of way on the north side of Cherokee and south of Constitution Drive in Turkey Creek Township.

• Case No. 05262V - Tony and Debra Swanson's petition for a variance allowing two uses, carport sales with an existing gas station, on one tract of ground.

The property is on the south side of U.S. 30 and west of CR 650W in Prairie Township.

• Case No. 05121E - John Johnson's petition for an exception in a residential district to place a shed on a tract of ground without a residence.

The property is on the north side of Lakeview Drive and east of Lincoln Road in Turkey Creek Township.

• Case No. 05122E - Marvin Miller's petition for an exception to allow a home-based business (appliance sales) with five employees in an agricultural district.

The property is on the west side of CR 800W and 436 feet south of Ind. 19 in Scott Township.

• Case No. 05123E - Joe Muncy's request for an exception to build an oversized accessory building of 1,680 square feet in a residential district.

The property is on the south side of CR 300S and 420 feet east of CR 25W in Wayne Township.

• Case No. 05263V - David Mitchell's petition for a variance which would permit allowing a small satellite dish to remain at 20 feet from the south right of way. The property is on the north side of EMS B40 Lane and south of EMS B40C Lane in Tippecanoe Township.

• Case No. 05264V - Leann Hubbs' variance to allow a residence addition 18 feet from the north right of way.

The property is on the west side of Dixie Drive and south of Himes Street in Tippecanoe Township.

• Case No. 05126E - James and Lori Carter's exception to expand light industrial use in a commercial district by adding a warehouse and docking and changing parking.

The property is on the south side of EMS C23 Lane and west of CR 300E in Plain Township.

• Case No. 05271V - Floyd and Betty Lancia's variance petition to build a carriage house 5 feet from each side line, 20 feet from the right of way and 4 feet from the water's edge.

The property is on the west side of Bayshore Drive in Turkey Creek Township.

• Case No. 05127E - Cindy Bartley's petition to change a previously granted exception allowing 12 storage warehouses (six being 30 by 64 feet and six being 30 by 72 feet in size) in an agricultural district.

The property is on the east side of Fox Farm Road and 200 feet north of Lake Street in Wayne Township.

• Case No. 05272V - HB Financial's variance permitting an addition of a covered, open porch 22 feet, 6 inches from the road right of way.

The property is on the south side of Ideal Beach Drive and west of Waco Drive in Turkey Creek Township.

• Case No. 05128E - Allen Miller's exception to expand a previously granted home-based business allowing the construction of a 60 by 100 foot pole building for the business in an agricultural district.

The property is on the east side of CR 900W and north of Ind. 19 in Scott Township.

• Case No. 05273V - David Wilson's variance to allow a cathedral ceiling, which adds to the cubic content of a residence and covers an existing patio 14 feet from the road right of way.

The property is on the southwest side of Camp Mack Road and 2,030 feet south of CR 1150N in Van Buren Township.

• Case No. 05274V - Kent and Mariann Hollopeter's variance to allow a 10 by 14 foot shed to remain as placed 5 feet, 4 inches from the south property line.
