McSherry was asked by county commissioner Ron Truex how the process was going.
McSherry told the commissioners that the districts wouldn’t change but that some precincts might be split up.
He has until the Jan. 1 to finish his plan, but said he wants to have it completed before the November election.
Truex noted that Kosciusko County isn’t built to have equal amounts of people in all three districts and doing so would take drastic redrawing of district lines.
Kosciusko County has a population of 77,358 spread over the fourth-largest county, area-wise, in the state.
“If the state is happy with (McSherry’s plan), we’re happy with it,” said Truex.
County Highway Superintendent Scott Tilden said his crews continue to work on road projects.
As of this morning, crews had chip sealed 33 miles of road in the county.
Tilden said that since the roads need to be dry to chip seal, his crews were held up by rains in the past few weeks.
His crews are still targeting 100 miles to chip seal.
Today, crews were in Atwood working on drainage issues.
The commissioners voted to enter an agreement with Indiana Fiber Network that will save the county $400 a month on its computer network costs.
The commissioners’ next meeting is scheduled for 9 a.m. Aug. 16.
