By Jordan Fouts-
County Highway Superintendent Scott Tilden opened bids from Niblock Excavating Inc., for $1.167 million, and Phend and Brown, for $989,000.
Both bids came in under the $1.135 million engineer’s estimate for reconstruction of the road between CRs 1300N and 1400N, northeast of Milford bordering the Trupointe Cooperative site.
Tilden told commissioners he will take the bids under advisement and give a recommendation at a later meeting.
Also this morning, commissioners approved $61,568 for TJ Technologies to replace security cameras inside the Justice Building. County Administrator Ron Robinson presented the request to replace the 30-year-old cameras, which Sheriff Rocky Goshert noted are vital to anything that goes on in the building.
And commissioners approved a request to rename two privately maintained drives within a tract of ground south of Winona Lake owned by Cass Holdings LLC.
A privately maintained drive that intersects with South Country Club Road will be known as Seymour Midwest Drive, and a drive about 850 feet to the north will be formalized as Southgate Park.[[In-content Ad]]
