Have you ever wondered what a school day at Lakeland Christian Academy is like? Have you ever thought, “I wish I (or my child) could visit LCA without having to miss classes at our current school?”
Well, now you can do just that. Lakeland Christian Academy is hosting its first Fall Break Day at LCA Oct. 23. LCA is inviting all fifth- through 12th-grade students and their parents to join us for an inside look at LCA during the public schools’ fall break.
Since Lakeland Christian Academy is in session during the local public schools’ upcoming fall break, you can get a firsthand look at an actual school day at LCA without having to miss a day at your school. You can experience what a small private Christian school environment is like.
You can shadow a student through a half day. You will see the contrast between a large and small school to see which one is right for you. You will be able to see the positive way our students treat each other. You will be able to attend classes and see just how high the academic standards are at LCA. In addition, you will see the difference it makes to have those subjects taught from a Christian teacher. You will have the opportunity to attend a student led chapel and worship service, eat lunch with the students and even be given the opportunity to attend an LCA Indiana High School Athletic Association event of your choice. It will be a great day.
As well as attend classes, worship services, lunch and athletic events there will also be a break-out session to answer any questions. This session will have parents, students, administrators and teachers present to answer any and all questions that you may have about an education at LCA, including our academic standards, college course offerings, the use of School Choice vouchers, financial aid and more.
This all takes place Oct. 23 and is totally free. It is open to all families, students and church youth groups with students in fifth through 12th grade. This will be a fun and enlightening day for all.
Please try to attend. This one day may change the life of your child (and your family) forever.  Some parents’ mindset is that they will wait until college to send their children to a Christian school; however, that seems backward to me.  Our children are in their formative years and are most impressionable in seventh through 12th grades. Wouldn’t it be even more important to attend a Christian school when you are young?
As it says in Proverbs 22:6: “Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it.” (NIV)
Give Lakeland Christian a try; it might be the perfect fit for your family. All you have to do to take advantage of this wonderful opportunity is call LCA Director of Development Scott Wiley at 574-267-7265 to register.
