Cougar Pause: LCA Open House And Student Visitation Days Set
July 28, 2016 at 4:25 p.m.
By Scott Wiley-
It has been a great year here at Lakeland Christian Academy and it keeps getting better. Our students and families are having a great time gaining in knowledge while in a safe, fun, Christian, family atmosphere. More and more families are discovering that they have a choice when it comes to what school their seventh- through 12th-grade child will attend. In fact, we are still growing as we added another new eighth-grade student this week.
When considering what school their child will attend next year, many parents around Kosciusko County do not know that they have a choice. In addition to public school and homeschooling, LCA provides one of the area’s finest seventh- through 12th-grade private Christian schools, and we accept school choice vouchers.
If you have ever wondered what LCA is like, now is your chance to find out.
You are invited to attend three upcoming events.
Lakeland Christian Academy’s open house is March 19 from 6 to 8 p.m.
Our home is your home as we invite you to tour our 40-acre campus and meet with our teachers, staff and parents. You will also be able to talk with our students to find out what life is like at LCA. Administrators will be on hand to inform you of the enrollment process and financial aid programs including scholarships and the school voucher program. This open house is open to anyone in our community. We are even offering a coupon for free registration for new families that attend our open house.
Sixth-grade visitation day is from 8 a.m. to 3:05 p.m. April 1.
Our first visitation day is for current sixth-grade students. The transition from elementary school to middle school is one of the most important periods of your child’s life. This is where they leave the elementary school “nest” and join the “flock” of local adolescents. They will leave the comfort of being with the same teacher and 20 or so students in the same classroom all day to middle school, where they will be required to change classrooms and teachers each period while interacting with students from various grade levels.
Middle school students are very impressionable and this time will greatly influence not only their academic life but also their emotional, social, mental and spiritual lives. They will be forming their inner self-esteem and their worldview. This period is critical in their overall development.
Visitation day for seventh through 11th grade is 8 a.m. to 3:05 p.m. April 29.
Another very important period in your child’s life is the ninth- through 12th-grade years. This is when they grow from adolescents to adults.
At Lakeland Christian Academy we feel that with our small size, our family oriented environment, our caring Christian teachers, our excellent academics and our Christian worldview, we are equipped to give your child an excellent foundation for success in all areas of life. Also at LCA, your child will have the opportunity to participate in athletics and other extracurricular activities that they might not be able to at a larger school.
Now we understand that parents may be concerned about sending their children into a different setting for a whole day without really knowing anyone. For this reason, they will be matched up with a student from their closest grade level to be their “buddy” throughout the day.
Starting at 8 a.m., your child’s buddy will take them to class, introduce them to other students, attend a chapel service, have a free pizza lunch and more. Parents will also have the opportunity to attend chapel as well as attend a special parent meeting to find out more about LCA. Our administrative team will be available all day to answer any and all questions.
We are excited about these three special days at LCA and we look forward to meeting you and your child.
We are now open for enrollment for the 2015-16 school year. If you have any questions, contact Scott Wiley at 574-267-7265 or by email at [email protected]
