MILFORD – Cornelius W. Reuter, 99, of Milford, went to be with the Lord  Feb. 7, 2013, in Lakeland Healthcare and Rehabilitation.
He was born March 7, 1913, in Milford, to Michael and Elma Berkey Reuter. On Easter Sunday March 28, 1937, he married Lois E. Reuter, who died July 9, 2003.
A lifetime Milford resident, he graduated in 1931, was a lifetime farmer and opened an excavating company in 1967, working until his retirement. He was a member of the Bethany Church of the Brethren, New Paris, and attended Sebring Church of the Brethren, Florida. He enjoyed music, playing the violin, was a member of the Melloaires Music Group and enjoyed spending time at their winter home in Sebring, Fla. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.
Surviving are a son, Herbert L. (and spouse Pat) Reuter, Milford; three daughters, Roberta J. McDonald and Dorothy L. Kistler, both of New Paris, and Joann E. (and spouse Robin) Boyer, Syracuse; six grandchildren;  five great-grandchildren; a brother, Vernon Reuter; and a sister, Wreatha Ammerman. He also was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Myrtle Crouch.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Bethany Church of the Brethren, New Paris, with Pastor Timothy Sollenberger-Morphew officiating. Burial will be in Milford Cemetery.
Calling is from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the church.
Mishler Funeral Home, 461 W. CR 900N, Milford, is in charge of arrangements.
